TEENS DEPARTMENT
Space focused on understanding and intervening in problems specific to adolescence, considering their subjective uniqueness in disruptive contexts.
The Department will initially guide the formation of a work team and will direct its first actions towards the stages of prevention and preparation, through the generation and transfer of scientific-technical knowledge, the strengthening of institutional and community capacities and the development of tools that favor early preparation for different risk scenarios.
Through an international network of educational institutions, the Teens Department creates a space where teenagers can express their voices, develop eco-bioethical training and lead transformation projects in their own school and community contexts, actively integrating into the global eco-bioethical dialogue and strengthening the educational and ethical mission of the ICB.
OBJECTIVES
Promoting youth leadership in constructive interventions in everyday environments.
To enable spaces for participation where adolescents can rehearse, build and sustain bioethical initiatives aimed at peaceful coexistence, respecting the times, ways and processes of adolescence.
To create an international network of secondary schools committed to eco-bioethics and peace, within the framework of the ICB and the #bioethics4peace initiative.
LINES OF WORK
1. Certified training and capacity building: The Department offers certified ecobioethical training programs in dignified, respectful, and healthy coexistence, in coordination with the International Transdisciplinary Center on Disruptions and the ICB network of professionals in ethics, bioethics, and ecobioethics.
2. Ecobioethics projects led by adolescents: Generation of situated ecobioethical actions, developed in flexible formats tailored to adolescent languages and modes of expression, and designed, implemented, and evaluated by the youth themselves, based on their situated reading of contemporary reality.
