HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Area responsible for the integration of biomedical and psychosocial approaches in disruptive contexts, coordinating different disciplines within the health field.
MISSION
To generate knowledge, develop capacities and promote transdisciplinary solutions that contribute to anticipation, prevention, preparation, response, adaptation and recovery in the face of health disruptions, through the articulation of scientific, technological, social, economic, environmental, legal and humanistic knowledge.
The Health Department is focused on developing operational, dynamic and contingency strategies, centered on resilience and rapid response to disruptive events and prevention in the management of response capacity, organizational agility, in scenarios of high uncertainty and degraded environments.
OBJECTIVES
-
To investigate the causes, characteristics, dynamics, and impacts of disruptions that may affect health and healthcare systems.
-
To anticipate health risk scenarios through prospective studies, trend analysis, strategic surveillance, and scenario building.
-
To strengthen the prevention and preparedness of institutions and communities against emergencies and disruptive transformations.
-
To develop transdisciplinary knowledge by integrating health sciences with other areas of knowledge.
-
To analyze the resilience of healthcare systems, including their institutional, human, technological, financial, and logistical capabilities.
-
To promote scientific and technological innovation applied to healthcare prevention, surveillance, diagnosis, care, management, and recovery.
-
To study the health impacts of environmental, climate, technological, demographic, economic, and social transformations.
-
To generate decision-making tools, including models, indicators, protocols, methodologies, information systems, and technical documents.
-
To train researchers and professionals specializing in health, disruptions, and the management of complex scenarios.
-
To foster national and international cooperation among universities, research centers, public agencies, international organizations, businesses, and civil society organizations.
-
To contribute to the design and evaluation of health policies and strategies, providing scientific evidence and technical analysis.
-
To promote the transfer of knowledge generated by the Department to the institutions and communities that can utilize it.
